How to manage your freelance week from Claude or ChatGPT
ToDev now works as a connector in Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, Cursor and other MCP clients. If one of them is already open most of your day, you can ask it about your week instead of switching to the app.
MCP is the open protocol these clients use to talk to other apps. You add ToDev once, sign in, and from then on the chat can read and change your tasks, projects and records.
What you can ask
These are the kind of requests it handles:
- “What’s on today?”
- “Move the Fernwood tasks to Friday.”
- “Mark the deploy task done.”
- “Record a €12 hosting expense.”
- “What’s unpaid?”
So the Monday plan from planning a freelance week by client and project can happen in a conversation, and so can the month-end check from keeping track of unpaid invoices.
What the connector can change
It reads and edits your tasks, projects, clients, your company details, and your income and expense records. It has no delete tools, so deleting anything still happens in the app.
In Claude, each change asks for your confirmation until you choose to allow it.
Set it up in 3 steps
- Copy the connector URL:
https://api.todev.app/mcp - In your AI client, open its connector or MCP settings, add a custom connector and paste the URL.
- Your client opens todev.app. Sign in with your ToDev account and approve the access.
Then ask “What’s on today?” to check it works. The setup page has the same steps with a button to copy the URL.
Disconnecting
Every client you connect is listed in the web app under Settings, then Connected apps, and you can revoke each one there. Revoking stops that client’s access to ToDev straight away.
What it costs
The connector comes with the Business plan (2,49€ a month) and Premium (4,99€ a month). The AI itself runs in your own Claude, ChatGPT, Grok or Cursor subscription, on the plan you already have there, and ToDev doesn’t charge for it.
If you try it, I’d like to hear which requests you use most. Write to me, I still read that mail.
